Work from my residency with Comme Ca Art at Hope Mill in Ancoats.
I wanted to spend a year based in the fifth storey of this old mill building responding to the changing seasons and ever changing city skyline. This residency has given me the chance to paint and sketch in situ and forces the artist to find the interesting composition on a day to day basis. Sometimes the weather can change so much in an hour that I have produced ten paintings just of the sky. There is a fantastic rate of progress with building in Manchester, each time I arrive it feels like there are more cranes and the skyline has changed again.
